The delay of the earbuds verses the spoken word was pointless. Just use MS Translate or Google Translate and your phone. You have to use an app anyway. As for accuracy it was worse than the other options.. Especially with dialects like Bavarian. As for Slavic languages like Polish.. forget it.Follow up – Instead of fixing their product, they wanted to offer me a $150 Amazon card to remove my review as apparently the truth hurts..I am sorry TimeKettle.. but NO. Your product is no better than a cool set of earpieces on a poorly executed translator program. Your ads and product listing over promises and the product woefully under delivers and I will not be bribed into removing my review.Instead let me elaborate a bit more..MAYBE when the next versions are betterMAYBE the next versions get to download the data set for any languages instead of just a few Asian onesMAYBE when it starts to work in closer to real timeMAYBE ( The big one ) when you dont have to have your cellphone out to use as the microphone..MAYBE you fix all that, then send me a version and then I remove this review.BUT FOR NOW.. if you are looking for something for Slavick or Germanic languages.. just pull out your cellphone download MS Translator, download the language pack for your language of choice ( all free ) and use it. Its more accurate than M2, faster, and BOTH require having the cellphone out to use.I do want someone to succeed in making a earpiece that can use the computing power in a cellphone to do translation. One where maybe you hear what they are saying, in close to real time. I can envision a sound cancelling tech where the person talking has their sounds cancelled out by the earpiece and what they say is replaced with the translation. We are a good way from that right now.. But thats what people want.I think at minimum IF the M2 didn’t require the cellphone to be out and could pickup what was said, and translate clearly. That would make it worth it. But as you have to have your cellphone out and point it at the speaker.. ( just like with a phone based translator app ) its not worth the cost.Timekettle.. may I recommend you license the MS translator program, and its language packs ? It would save you money and time. They already have that figured out better. Also MS doesn’t sell hardware.So if you focused on the hardware, and let the experts focus on the translation that would help you. Maybe MS would even be able to help you with the hardware. |
